Implants

Implants

There are many causes for the loss of teeth (caries, periodontosis, accidents...). The resulting gaps - regardless of whether big or small - should be closed as fast as possible.

What to do? A bridge? A removable prosthesis? Or an implant? Removable prostheses require a lot of patience and fitting. The chewing function is often restricted, the articulation suffers and even a hearty sneeze may deform it. If smaller gaps in the jaw or individual missing teeth have to be covered, healthy neighbouring teeth often have to be ground down. Modern dentistry offers a proven alternative to normal tooth replacements: The permanently anchored implant!

1. What about the treatment procedure?
A titanium implant is securely anchored in the jaw as artificial root in a normally painless surgical procedure under local anaesthesia. Depending on the individual situation, the implant bonds with the jaw in about 3 to 6 months.

2. How long does an implant last?
That depends entirely on you. In principle, it should last a lifetime with careful oral hygiene and a healthy lifestyle.

3. Can anyone receive an implant?
If you are healthy and have sufficient bone material, yes. Of course, there are patients who cannot receive an implant. These are patients with bone, coronary or infectious diseases, alcoholics and very heavy smokers.

4. How much does an implant cost?
An implant with a subsequent natural, ceramic crown costs approx. 1500 Ä. Of course, the total price depends on the number and the later prosthesis, which should best meet your requirements. Altogether, implants are a wise and long-term investment into your health and quality of life.

The statutory health insurance also subsidises implants.
